How many times to you vacuum?
If it's every day, cut it to once a week. Adjust this to your own habits. Instead, get a broom -

And sweep, kiddo, sweep. It gets your muscles going, warms you up, and saves power. Plus, if you don't vacuum that often, sweeping your floors out might help get rid of bacteria and grime that's weakening your immune system and making you dislike the cold. Maybe? I don't know, I don't know science, but that seems like it might be true!
Seriously, though. Sweeping = warmth + cleanliness - electricity.
